MEMBERSHIP INFORMATION:
Before applying for membership, it is important that you take a moment to read our mission statement and core objectives. Keep in mind that this is a cooperative effort to raise everyone involved to a level of professionalism and success that creates a sustained industry. We are stronger as a community.
OUR MISSION:
Cultivate a self-sustaining film industry through the advancement of outstanding independent productions. Produce films that result in economic and commercial growth.
OUR OBJECTIVES:
1) Influence policy at local, regional and state levels, where possible, to create a friendlier environment for film productions indigenous to Oregon.
2) Create fresh, effective ways to bring investment capitol to local productions so that money starts and ends in Oregon.
3) Share experience, resources and information with fellow members.
4) Grow our experienced crew and talent base.
5) Offer educational opportunities to our members and our community.
To be considered for full membership to the OPA the applicant must meet the following qualifications:
1) Have produced at least one feature length film intended for distribution, or be in production of a film at the time of application and,
2) Reside, produce and shoot in Oregon. And submit the following materials:
3) Reel, or sample, of feature films where credited as Producer and,
4) A completed application.
The current voting membership must then approve the applicant in a simple majority vote. Associate members who are deemed valuable to the group's mission but are not otherwise eligible as defined above could be voted in as well, and would have all the rights and privileges of a full member with the exception of a vote where taken.
